Founded in 2007 and run by the Roqueta family, LaFou Cellar is located in Batea, a small town in the Terra Alta region in inland Tarragona. ‘Fou’ in Catalan means a ravine or narrow gorge and aptly describes the searing purity and freshness of LaFou Cellar’s wines. The winery fronts onto the main square of Batea and from the moment you enter you are transported back in time by the ancient walls, the flagstone floors and the various artefacts of early wine making history scattered throughout
Pale yellow with straw tones, El Amelers has apricot and citrus aromas against a background of jasmine, green almond and flint. Great varietal structure with acidity that highlights the lively character and brings out the citrus, floral elements. Generous and refined it maintains an elegant, powerful balance with astonishing purity. Utterly delicious.

Ageing: Barrel aged for 6 months
Food: Shellfish, seafood, poultry, salads.
