Delteto began in 1953 when Carlo Deltetto began producing high quality wines in Piedmont’s historic and prestigious wine producing areas of Roero and Langhe. In 1977, Carlo’s son, Antonio, took over the reins with help from his wife, children and, more recently, grandchildren. The estate covers 21 hectares in the Roero, the gently hilly region on the northern bank of the Tanaro. The soil is sandier in this area and, in consequence, produces wines that are more aromatic and less structured than those from the Langhe hills on the south bank. Deltetto produces the great traditional reds such as Roero DOCG Riserva Braja and the Langhe DOC Nebbiolo. Optimising the ideal Roero habitat for white wine, Deltetto also produces Roero Arneis and Langhe DOC Favorita.

Over the past few years, the Deltetto family has enjoyed many successes with its Barolo DOCG Sistalgia and Bussia. In 2000, the family began to explore the world of sparkling wine and is now one of Italy’s finest sparkling wine producers.

From Deltetto’s Braja vineyard in Santo Stefano, Roero, this takes its name from the Piedmontese word for ‘shout’. Wild berry, grilled herbs, violets and a hint of vanilla lead to a linear, elegant, tautly structured palate where cherries, red berries, liquorice and grilled sage abound.

Alcohol:      14%

Ageing:       Approximately 24 months between barriques and big oak casks followed by 12 months ageing in the bottle.
